About Me

Throughout my undergraduate career I was working towards a profession in film or public relations.  It wasn’t until I got the amazing opportunity to travel to Nyeri, Kenya to volunteer at the St. Mary’s School for Boys, that I realized my purpose and what I was meant to do with my life; teach.  My time at St. Mary’s showed me the biggest issue our world faces, educational injustices.  I realize now that the only way I can help fight for educational injustices is to become part of the solution.  In the summer of 2019, I decided that I would go back to school to get my teaching certification in early grades, Pre-K through 4th, at West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

I believe in equity and equality in all parts of life especially in the classroom.  Throughout my journey I’ve learned the importance of a high-quality education but feel as though not every student receives this.  I believe it is my duty, as an educator, to ensure that every student I encounter is treated with the same amount of respect, integrity, and attentiveness.  My classroom is a safe place where all should feel welcomed and at home, where hard work and honesty is held at the highest value, and where my students can find their passions and learn who they want to be in this world.

I’m looking forward to a career that involves working with children and serving a community.
